Today, the Governors of Connecticut, New York and New Jersey toured the areas of massive destruction in their respective states. Here in Connecticut, many trees have fallen and 500,000 people are still without power. Connecticut shoreline communities experienced serious flooding. But anyone who has had a chance to see the pictures and videos of the unthinkable destruction on the New Jersey shore and the flooded subways in Manhattan knows that it will take a lot of time to come back from Hurricane Sandy. Many families will return home in the next few days only to find their homes completely uninhabitable. Water, food and other supplies will be needed for people from these areas for weeks to come. If you would like to contribute to help people as they recover and start to rebuild their neighborhoods, one way you can help is by visiting the American Red Cross here!
